  • E-Paper Display Refresh Rate Reaches New Heights - IEEE Spectrum

    spectrum.ieee.org

I have been looking at a new e-paper / e-ink tablet to replace my ageing Boox Poke, especially casting an eye on the colour models. It’s a technology that is still yet to mature into something as usable as many manufacturers hope. Maybe that is about to change.

  • macOS 26 Tahoe: The MacStories Review - MacStories

    macstories.net

For all you Apple fans, this week only had one piece of news… All the 26s are out! Liquid Glass is growing on me (slowly) and Mac Stories are here as always with their novella-length reviews.

  • Insane Monopoly a giant nine-hour board game is real and can hurt you

    wargamer.com

Monopoly is a game generally despised by “serious” gamers, so why anyone would seek to “improve” it I don’t know. But people also like to play epic days long games of mega civilisation too, so gamers be gaming.

  • A brief history of Adobes apps

    eclecticlight.co

“Friend of the newsletter” is back with another great history of tech post, this time on Adobe. I think what surprised me the most was show many companies they had acquired over the years. I knew about (and remembered) Macromedia (look them up kids), but not so many of the others. Also, looking back through the screenshots, it’s amazing how the basic interface has changed so little.

  • Google Chrome at 17 - A history of our browser

    addyosmani.com

Some more history, and while it’s a little self-aggrandising, Chrome has now been with us for 17 years! The dominance of Internet Explorer is a long and distant memory.

  • LAP Coffee: The trouble is brewing - The Berliner

    the-berliner.com

Coffee in Berlin has become _expensive_, and for some reason the growth of a recent chain that offers affordable, good value coffee, and pays its staff well is causing controversy.
