Sunsetting Writerside IDE | The Writerside Blog
blog.jetbrains.comWriterside was a bold move from Jetbrains, creating an IDE dedicated to technical writing. I reviewed and tested it a couple of times, and while it had some interesting tools and ideas, it involved teams moving a toolchain all in to the platform, which was maybe too restrictive. It’s not dead, but is moving to a plugin only for other IntelliJ IDEs, which makes sense, and I wonder if this was always the strategy anyway.

Still, with many of the new platforms using some form of open web protocol, this means that a unified platform for viewing and posting to timelines is possible. Enter Openvibe! I have found it to be a little sporadic in showing timelines from certain networks, but it’s a great start!
