Recently, I was delighted to be invited foraging at a lovely park in Prenzlauer berg. The park borders on a little village of allotment gardens-there was even a tennis court and a little cafe! They are very popular, especially in East Germany, and highly sought after. (If you go to Leipzig I recommend the Deutsches Kleingärtnermuseum).

We only walked briefly through the gardens, as our intent was on a afternoon of foraging. It was a bit embarrassing as couldn&#8217;t recognise much being Australian (I used to like Purslane and chickpea weed in soups and salads).

We also saw hazelnut and apple trees and elderflower shrubs but none of these were in season.



It was just lovely getting outside in the fresh air.
